The Venue

InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown is the perfect venue for South Asian ceremonies and receptions, offering up to 33 different meetings and events spaces. Our 20,467 square-foot Wilshire Grand Ballroom can seat up to 800 guests, followed by smaller indoor and outdoor options. 

Picture your baraat taking place in the city followed by an indoor ceremony. Spire 73, located on the 73rd floor of the hotel, can accommodate ceremonies of 160 guests or less outdoors, where guests can take in panoramic views of the city in a completely open-air space.

InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown offers indoor and outdoor space for outside catering, to host your engagement party, Sangeet, Mehndi, or Baraat and religious ceremony as well as wedding reception.

InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown is located in the core of Downtown’s historic, entertainment, financial, arts, and sports districts. Ideally placed at the heart of the revitalized, energy-charged urban center of the United States’ second-largest city, the hotel provides first-class hospitality that seamlessly intertwines with the fabric of the burgeoning Downtown area.

Guests can enjoy close proximity to many of L.A.'s most iconic attractions, entertainment and sports venues, as well as easy access to and from both Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Burbank Airport.

Cocktail Hour Space

Our grand foyer space is 18,000 square feet and boasts a skylight that allows for abundant natural light as well as an attached outdoor terrace.  Here your guests will be able to enjoy city views.  The grand foyer is also conveniently in close proximity to where your caterer can enjoy exclusive use of our kitchen. Our staff will set up and replenish your buffets or tray pass any specially prepared regional cuisine.

Banquet Tables

InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown offers a variety of seating options. Arrange your space in rounds of 8 – 12 guests using our 60” round tables or 72” round tables.  We can also arrange kings tables by using our rectangular tables. We also offer hotel banquet chairs, linens, chafing dishes, china, crystal stemware and silver, as well as a dance floor and staging which can all be customized.

Bar Set Up

During Cocktail Hour:

During cocktail hour bars are setup in the ballroom foyer. 

During Reception:

During the reception, bars are usually setup in the ballroom, depending on the number of guests. Most couples prefer the bars in the ballroom for the duration of the reception. When they're in the foyer, the event tends to be fragmented.

In between wedding events, your guests can enjoy world-class dining at any of our six on-site establishments including all-day international dining experience at Dekkadance on the 69th floor; a sushi bar and omakase at Sora on the 69th floor; upscale vodka bar and lounge experience with light fare at Lobby Lounge on the 70th floor; an elegant American steakhouse with a French twist at La Boucherie on the 71st floor; cocktails and small bites at Spire 73, the tallest open-air bar in the Western Hemisphere.

High-speed double-decker elevators provide a 40-second ride to an innovative Sky Lobby on the 70th floor, where guests check-in over 1,000 feet above street level. InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown is happy to set-up a courtesy room block of up to 10 rooms. 

Anything over 10 rooms will be contracted.

Outside Catering

Outside caterers are welcome at InterContinental with required licensing and insurance. All caterers must carry at least $1,000,000.00 in liability insurance. Please ask your preferred caterer to provide: 

Letters of reference from other luxury hotels
Copies of Liability Insurance and Serv-Safe cards for all their staff who are on-site 
Be willing to meet and walk the space with our Executive Chef, Director of Food & Beverage and Catering Staff

Kitchen Access

InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown is one of the few venues that allows complete access to a full kitchen which is complete with walk in refrigerator, deep-fryer, gas stoves and dish washing area.  There is ample storage space and load-in the day prior is always an option if needed. There may also be a kitchen-access fee to utilize this space and equipment.

Ceremony & Baraat Info

Outdoor Ceremony Flame:

You may be required to obtain a fire permit from the local Fire Marshal. It's your responsibility to apply and acquire the permit - the venue does not take care of this, nor any associated costs. Contact the Los Angeles Fire Department for more info. 

Indoor Ceremony Flame:

Anand Karaj:

Our Hollywood Ballroom is the perfect space for your Anand Karaj. At 5,300 square-feet with wall-to-wall carpeting, natural light, and an adjacent outdoor space accessible through a retractable glass garage door, this ballroom can accommodate up to 400 guests.  Lunch can be arranged in the attached outdoor foyer and space to follow.  

Baraat:

We have options for an indoor or outdoor baraat.  Our catering team will walk you through each space and assist with securing the required permits to make your dreams a reality. 

Permits:

Our Catering team can assist in connecting you with the City of Los Angeles and/or local Fire Marshall for any permits required.

Vendors

All vendors that work on your events must be licenced and insured. They will be required to provide the hotel, copies of of their documents stating as such. Additional policies and requirements, may apply to vendors. The Catering team at the hotel will provide that info.
