The Venue

Hotel Maya has quickly become a preferred venue for Indian weddings in Southern California! The spacious waterfront ceremony at Vista del Mar (seats 300) and the glass Pavilion (seats 450 for a reception), overlooking the Long Beach skyline are ideal for Indian weddings. 

At night, you and your guests can enjoy views of the Long Beach skyline as you dance the night away. And for grooms that are looking for something unique - get ready to arrive for your baraat by boat! Hotel Maya features a private dock that seamlessly leads to a walkway - talk about a one-of-a-kind baraat! (And it's not uncommon to spot a seal or two)!

Hotel Maya also has spaces for a hospitality room and a prayer room.

Common Space Combos

Ceremony: Vista del Mar > Cocktail Hour & Reception: Lagunita Pavilion
You can choose to have cocktail hour in Vista del Mar as well. 
These are the largest spaces at the hotel. Both are waterfront venues and at night guests enjoy skyline views.

 

Guests per Table

Hotel Maya has a variety of round tables that seat anywhere from 8-12 guests per table. Additionally they have rectangular (king's) tables, which are very popular as well. Depending on the number of guests and the function space for your event, their team will put together a floor plan for you.

Bar Set Up

During Cocktail Hour:

Wherever the cocktail hour is held, whether in the Pavilion, Vista del Mar or the foyer, bars can be setup for you anf your guests to enjoy.

During Reception:

During the recption, the bars can be setup in the Pavilion or ballroom or outside the room. If your guest count is close to the max capacity of the space it will be best to setup bars outside the room to maximize guest seating.

Keep in Mind

The property features 7 fire-pits throughout and is lined with tiki torches. With nearly 200 guestsrooms your guests can easily fly into Long Beach, LAX or John Wayne airport and have a relaxing, resort-like stay.

With their own private dock which allows boats to dock for the baraat, along the waterfront pathway to the ceremony site which also features waterfront views!

Vista Del Mar which is the most popular ceremony space at this venue, for South Asian weddings, has a structure that can be decorated for a wedding or reception. You might like our mandap guide and Pinterest board for ideas.

If you'd like to have the ceremony in one of the spaces that does not have a structure - no worries! Your decorator is welcome to bring in a mandap/archway. 

 

Outside Catering

Outside caterers are welcome. The caterer must be on their approved caterer list or be pre-approved by the hotel's Executive Chef.

The caterer must provide a copy of their business license and proof of at least $2MM of liability. Caterers that have never worked there are required to do a walk-through of the venue at least two weeks before the event.

Other policies and procedures for the caterer for the weeks following up to your events. For now what you need to know is that you can hire one of the caterers listed below OR go through an approval process, if the caterer you'd like, is not on this list.

Kitchen Access

Caterers will not have kitchen access. They're welcome to setup a satellite kitchen and the Hotel Maya has a great dedicated space for that.

Outdoor Ceremony Flame:

No worries!

Indoor Ceremony Flame:

Indoor ceremony flames are discouraged and are really only offered in case of inclement weather and a ceremony has to be moved indoors.

Anand Karaj:

An Anand Karaj ceremony can be arranged here. ShaadiShop recognizes an Anand Karaj ceremony is traditionally performed in a Gurdwara. Since we’ve had requests for an Anand Karaj in other venues, as a courtesy, we’ve included this information. You might like our Sikh Wedding Pinterest board.

Baraat:

The venue welcomes car, horse, AND boat baraats! The Hotel Maya features a private boat dock and a walkway that hugs the water and leads directly to the ceremony site, for a one-of-a-kind baraat!  

Rain Back Up

In case of inclement weather, they will move your event into one of the indoor spaces Esplanade which features a 42' umbrella covering.

Vendors

You’re welcome to work with any vendors you like. Please ensure all vendors provide the hotel with a copy of their business license and proof of at least $1MM of liability insurance. We recommend taking care of this at least 3 weeks prior to your events. Also it is preferred for vendors to walk throgh the space at least once before the event.
