Location

The Westin Long Beach is in beautiful downtown Long Beach, directly across from the Long Beach Performing Arts Center and near the Aquarium of the Pacific, Rainbow Harbor, Pike Shopping Center and everything that Southern California has to offer. Plus the Westin is only a few miles from Long Beach Airport so out-of-town guests will also find it very convenient.

These capacities take into consideration space needed for tables, chairs, dance floor ec. so you can use these capacities to plan your guest list. 

The Centennial Ballroom is on the 3rd floor of the hotel and breaks into sections. Salons A and B seat about 450 and Salon A features the adjoining Centennial Terrace with views of downtown Long Beach. You'll love the natural light from the floor-to-ceiling windows in the ballroom! 

Additional rooms can be provided i.e. prayer room, hospitality room.

Cocktail Hour Space

If your reception is going to be in the Centennial Ballroom, the cocktail hour will be held in the Centennial Foyer and adjoining Centennial Terrace. Couples love the indoor-outdoor venue for cocktail hour, giving guests a 'real California' feel to the wedding weekend. To keep your guests comfortable, the hotel is happy to sets up tall cocktail tables with some seating.

This depends on the number of guests. For celebrations for more than 200 guests:

Cocktail Hour: Centennial Foyer + Centennial Terrace
Reception: Centennial Ballroom

For celebrations for 150-200 guests:

Reception: Ocean Ballroom or Centennial Ballroom 
You could opt for an outdoor banquet as well on The Patio or Centennial Terrace

Banquet Tables

The Westin Long Beach offers round banquet tables, rectangular (king's) tables and square tables as well. Couples love being able to customize the ballroom layout design.

Guests per Table

Bar Set Up

During Cocktail Hour:

Bars will be setup in the foyer of the ballroom where your reception is taking place. The number of bars is determined by the number of guests. In general, 1 bar for every 100 guests.

During Reception:

This depends on space - based on the number of guests and other factors such as dance floor, cake table, head table etc. If there's space, during the reception the bars will be setup inside the ballroom. If there is not enough space the bars will be setup in the foyer.

Gazebo Spaces

The venues at this property do not have a gazebo or structure to use for a mandap or arch. The hotel will set up a stage and skirting, so talk to your decorator about bringing in a mandap or archway. Visit our Non-Gazebo Mandap, Pinterest board for inspiration.

Outside Catering

Outside Caterers are welcome. Outside Caterers must to provide Proof of Business License and a minimum of $1,000,000 Liability Insurance. The caterer is also required to visit at least one month prior to do a walk-through of the space.

 

Kitchen Access

Outside caterers have limited kitchen access. They can use the hotel's fryer as long as they bring their own oil and clean up afterwards. No prepping on-site.

Alcohol Options

The Westin is happy to offer consumption and per person packages. The Westin also allows BYO Wine and Champagne for $15.00++ per bottle and 750 ml bottles only.

Anand Karaj:

At ShaadiShop we recognize that Anand Karaj ceremonies are usually held in a Gurdwara. If the Gurdwara is unavailable or your guest count exceeds its capacity or you simply are choosing to have your ceremony outside a Gurdwara, the Westin Long Beach is happy to work with you to setup the ceremony as per your needs.

The closest Gurdwaras to the Westin Long Beach are Gurdwara Singh Sabha and Gurdwara Buena Park. Both of these Gurdwaras are in Buena Park.

Baraat:

horse, car and elephant baraat's are welcome!

Baraat's are really cool here. They start on Ocean Blvd. and end at the Patio Grille at the hotel.

Permits:

Obtain a permit from the City of Long Beach for your baraat. We recommend applying for the permit ASAP, as you never how long it might take for them to respond. Make sure you bring the permit and necessary documents with you on the wedding day in case any authorities want to see it.

Rain Back Up

The Westin books a backup indoor space or gives you the option to rent tenting.
