In the heart of beautiful Costa Mesa, the Westin South Coast Plaza is across the street from the world famous South Coast Plaza mall, adjacent to the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, conveniently located right off the 405 freeway and minutes from Orange County's John Wayne Airport. Not to mention world class beaches and Disneyland, are within 15 miles from the hotel.

The Terrace Gazebo is the most popular venue for ceremonies (see photo above). The Terrace is adjacent to the hotel's pool; and they are able to shut down the pool for private events. The Waterfall Terrace is behind the lobby bar and is attached to the Lido Room, which is perfect for serving lunch/snacks during or after the ceremony.

The Terrace Gazebo is the most popular venue for ceremonies due to its guest capacity. The Terrace is adjacent to the hotel's pool; and they are able to shut down the pool for private events. Up to 10 guests can be seated at the round banquet tables. Seating capacity at the king and square tables varies based on layout. Capacities include high chairs. During Reception:

Bars can be setup inside the ballroom or in the foyer. With such a large ballroom, most people opt for bars inside the ballroom so guests aren’t split up during the reception.

Outside Catering

Outside caterers are welcome. The caterer must provide a copy of their business license and proof of at least $5mm in liability insurance. This applies for any companies providing any type of food - appetizers, desserts, etc. Please don't take these requirements lightly. Caterers that don't meet the requirements will not be allowed to work your events.

Kitchen Access

The caterer will not have kitchen access to prepare, nor warm/refrigerate food. All food must be prepared beforehand and brought to the hotel.

Alcohol Options

The Westin is happy to offer consumption and per person packages. No outside alcohol permitted.

Ceremony & Baraat Info

Outdoor Ceremony Flame:

allowed, no worries.

Indoor Ceremony Flame:

allowed indoors, however a fire permit and fire watch are required. Fire permits can be obtained from the city. We recommend going through the permit process early on - don't delay. You never know how long the city might take to get back to you. Obtaining necessary permits is your responsibility - the venue does not take care of this.

Anand Karaj:

An Anand Karaj ceremony can be arranged here. ShaadiShop recognizes an Anand Karaj ceremony is traditionally performed in a Gurdwara. this venue welcomes baraats. Horse and car baraats are no worries. Ele's require approval from the venue and may require a city permit.


Contact the City of Costa Mesa to acquire necessary permits. Please note, you're responsible for acquiring permits - not the hotel. Please remember to bring necessary paperwork with you the day of the wedding in case any authorities request to see it!

Rain Back Up

The hotel keeps a back-up space (not a specific space) open in case of inclement weather. The morning of the wedding, contact the hotel if you'd like to move any of the events indoors. Keep-in-mind, the venue needs a few hours to make necessary arrangements, so make that call ASAP. And plan ahead with vendors - esp. your decorator/florist. The Gazebo Terrace Pavilion has a gazebo that can be used for a mandap/altar. But if the ceremony has to be moved indoors, there's no gazebo, which means the decorator will hve ro construct a mandap/altar. Recommended Reading: Wedding Day Rain; What Could Go Wrong?
